Kashay– The tatva of transcendence’
Everything that ‘exists’ in form or principle is ‘Tatva’. The understanding and knowledge of Tatva is Tatvagyan. The detailed study of Tatvas is essential for spiritual evolution. This subject deals with the nature of life and about everything in our universe. All philosophical schools have their unique theories and meditative ways of understanding and experiencing Tatvas.
Our thoughts and philosophies are also Tatvas. They are non-physical but powerful. Essentially, they are in the form of principles and concepts which give shapes to our beliefs and can influence and transform our existence. It is vital to realise that our thoughts and philosophies are the foundations of our spirituality. They have the potential to eliminate our ignorance and free us from limiting false beliefs and conditioning. One of the most profound philosophical ‘Tatva’ is Jainatva, which I refer to as the ‘Tatva of Transcendence’.
Jainatva is a unique philosophy which holds the promise of total transformation and transcendence to one’s highest potential. ‘Jainatwa’ is a sanskrit term which means ‘the principles by which one conquers his inner enemies’.
Your inner enemies form the obstacles that are blocking and polluting your divine soul-virtues. Once you eliminate them and empower your soul-virtues, you have mastered your existence. The inner enemies, are in the form of anger, greed, arrogance and deceit. They contribute towards toxic karmic bondage. All inner toxins stem from ‘MOHA’, a state of altered and distorted Buddhi (intelligence). Jainatva theory indicates MOHA as the root cause that blocks your potentials and your pure expression.
Jainatva has a 2-pronged approach; one which identifies the cause and the other which illuminates the remedy. The causes are reflected in karma of different kinds. The remedy lies in adopting the principles of ‘Ahimsa’. The practice of Ahimsa cleanses the soul of its karmic load and paves the way for ‘kaivalya’ – a divine state of completeness and pure eternal existence!
